November 19 Meeting Minutes

Camp Lejeune Parent Board Meeting – November 19, 2024 


  1.  Call to Order – 5:48 pm

  2. Attendees: Samantha Callahan, Jeff Cooke, Bianca Sullivan, Dan Sooy, Rafael Benitez, Michelle Perrow, Kendra Dunford

  3. Financial Report

    1. Account Balance

      1. Savings  $23.31

      2. Checking  $8,552.94, soon to be $8059.52

        1. Reimbursements to Tiffany for swim-a-thon prizes, Lisa for Constant Contact, Dan for Fin-a-thon items

      3. Panda Express fundraiser - $131.82

      4. $12 monthly fee will be automatic withdrawal for Constant Contact

  4. New business

    1. Upcoming calendar events

      1. Nov 23 – Friendsgiving – Bring a friend and canned goods

      2. Make up Glow Swim- Nov 26 – mostly for Silver/Gold during practice

        1. Need help and glow sticks

      3. Nov 27-Dec 1 – THANKSGIVING BREAK – resume on Monday, Dec 2

      4. Dec 9 – Hot Chocolate for team with most donated canned goods (Excludes Little Fins)

        1. Will determine in upcoming weeks how to best prepare and serve to winning team, ie, crockpot, coffee urn, etc

      5. Dec 9-13 – Parent Observation

      6. Dec 20-22 – TAC Jingle Bells Meet in Cary, NC

      7. Dec 23- Holiday Party/ Midnight Madness ***Says Dec 21 on Team Website – will need to correct***

        1. Need help with set up/ clean up

        2. Game ideas?

        3. Sign up genius for food 

        4. Volunteer to monitor food and cake contest

      8. Dec 24- Jan 5, 2025 – WINTER BREAK – resume Monday, Jan. 6, 2025

      9. Jan 11 – Lifeguard and Coach training

      10. Jan 18 – RollerCity and Silent Auction Fundraiser – will plan to schedule similar to last year

        1. First 50 attendees are paid for by team, additional swimmers pay at the door

      11. Jan 25 – Community Service

      12. Feb 10-14 – Parent Observation Week

    2. Banquet – Michelle and Lauren

      1. Looking for 200-300 attendees

      2. Presently looking for location and donations, have not heard back from any contacts yet

      3. Catering – Maybe BBQ

    3. Swim Meet request is moving through MCCS

      1. Tentatively March 2025 at New River pool

        1. Expected cost is approximately $1000

        2. Will be open to CLST only 

        3. Will inquire about the possibility of using an alternative on-base pool
